Hi, I’m Deborah, and I’m today I want to share one of my favorite machines, the Bernina 770 QE PRO.
Bernina recently added even more lighting to this machine, which makes a huge difference when you’re working on detailed projects. The machine also now includes Wi-Fi connectivity for accessing designs through Bernina’s online embroidery system. It’s a seamless way to bring embroidery directly into your workflow.
Another favorite feature, and one that you won't be able to live without once you've had this on your machine, is push-button threading. Simply guide the thread into place, press the button, and the machine threads the needle for you. It's a game-changer for those of us who find it difficult to thread the eye of a needle.
Here's another fantastic feature on this machine - the jumbo bobbin! Have you ever been sewing along and realized that you ran out of bobbin thread 5 minutes ago and you've just been poking holes in your fabrics instead of sewing them together? Because this jumbo-sized bobbin holds so much thread, you don’t need to stop and change your bobbin nearly as often.
The stitch adjustment on the 770 QE PRO is incredibly intuitive. You can:
- Elongate or shorten stitches with a simple touch
- Adjust width and length visually
- Enter exact stitch measurements using the touchscreen
- and so much more!
This is a Quilter’s Edition machine, and it shows. You’ll find stitches that mimic hand quilting, along with blanket stitches and patchwork stitches that can be easily adjusted for width and length.
One of my most-used features is the quilting micro-stitch knot. It begins with a few tiny securing stitches, then transitions into regular stitching. When you reach the end, there are no long threads to trim or bury. It’s efficient, tidy, and perfect for machine quilting.
The 770 QE PRO also includes:
- Multiple alphabets with upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
- A wide variety of buttonholes
- A dedicated feature for sewing buttons on
- Eyelet stitches, which are perfect for bags and creative projects
There’s so much more this machine can do, but the best way to understand it is to sew on it yourself. Come down to The Cotton Patch and I’d be happy to show you just how wonderful it is to sew with a Bernina!
